The Story
On December 27th, a series of coincidences leads a gifted teenager (Veronica "Violet" Lima) and her father (Mateo Lima) to the San Diego Zoo. Their carefree Sunday excursion unexpectedly becomes a struggle for survival - and lives hang in the balance when their world is turned upside down. I Miss Your Purple Hair is a tale about a father's devotion and love... a teenager awakening to her true destiny... and the dawning of a new era. The story suggests that humanity stands at the threshold of a quantum leap in evolution.
Inspired by real-life synchronicities*, this story centers on a group of strangers who find themselves suddenly embroiled in a struggle for survival, trapped within the confines of The San Diego Zoo. Massive earthquakes wreak havoc with the environment, and as the geography is transformed, the group of fourteen surviving human beings have no way of knowing the extent of the destruction. Worries for their families back home are superseded by their own struggles to sustain themselves and find a way to escape their imposed confinement.
Violet is a "gifted" 15-year-old on the verge of "awakening" to her true potential as an enlightened force. Through the years, she and her father have enjoyed an unusual relationship - and their unique bond has enabled their mutual evolution at a relatively accelerated rate. Violet has only scratched the surface of her potential, however, and it's not until other catalysts trigger her full development that she begins to fully comprehend her innate gifts.
By coincidence, when the earthquakes strike, Violet and her father are trapped with some other highly-evolved individuals, who unwittingly act as catalysts to accelerate her advancement. The story insinuates that all things are connected, and that "synchronicities" hint at elements of the plan that is in place. Certain coincidences ( aka/ "synchronicities") provide glimpses of answers, solutions and the grander plan in which we all play a part. As the survivors struggle to find a way to escape, they discover more about themselves and each other. The signs are all around them, but will any of them be able to put the pieces of the puzzle together in time? As they run out of resources, over the period of their confinement, they must cope with injuries, illness and emotional stresses that stretch them to their limits.
Who will survive the ordeal? Have some of the Zoo's residents been freed from their habitats during the tremors? Will there be more quakes and aftershocks to deal with? And what has happened to the world outside their limited scope?

"I receive "visions" that lead to real events, and believe we all
receive messages in the form of synchronicities - yet few have learned
to recognize and honor the signs. Only by embracing and developing all
of our innate gifts can we realize our potential... and ultimately,
fulfill our destiny." - Robert R. Chandler, author
